Often times ego and the need for big numbers clouds our view on squat depth. However,
if the depth isn’t there, do we really count the rep?
In a Powerlift meet there are rules on appropriate depth for the lift to count (white lights versus red). Mark Rippetoe is considered by many to be the go to for proper form when squatting. One simple way to hit proper depth is to get the thigh parallel to the ground or the hip crease below the thigh. Either one should land you in a position of proper depth.
